PWD Minister and Mizoram Football Association President Lal Thanzara told the visiting AIFF officials that "Rajiv Gandhi Stadium is still in the making now, and that after completion, it will be of advanced standard" .

"As of now, only half is done in the mean time of which we are determined to do all the needful so that Aizawl FC plays I-League in January, 2016 here", he said, adding "We hope to be successful" .

AIFF Stadium Inspection Committee included Indranil Das, Assistant Manager, Club Licensing & League Operations; Akshay Rohatgi, Manager, I-League and Savio Medeira, Manager Coaching and Academy.

"If go as per your present plan, the stadium will be fit not only for I League but other matches under Asian Football Confederations and even international matches", AIFF official Indranil said.
