Neroca FC made history today as they defeated DSK Shivajians in the first Semi Final of Durand Cup.  A first half penalty, scored by Chongtham Singh, and second half efforts by Meitei and substitute Anand Kumar sealed Neroca's passage to the final.

The Manipuri club were awarded a penalty in the 35th minute when Rohit Kumar brought down Neroca's Singam inside the box. Chongtham Singh took the spot kick and sent the ball past DSK's goalie to give his side the lead.

Former Bengaluru FC and Mumbai FC midfielder, Malemnganba Meitei doubled the lead for his home team in the 65th minute. Chongtham Singh sent a cross to David, who passed the ball to an incoming Meetei, who took the shot from the edge of the box and sent it flying into the nets.

DSK Shivajians suffered third goal in the injury time when a cross from the left flank was intercepted by Anand Kumar, who slotted the ball into the back of the nets making it 3-0 in favour of the Manipuri side.

Neroca FC will play the winner of Semi Final 2 between Aizawl FC and Army Green, for the coveted trophies on September 11.
