After a forgetful Mizoram Premier League, the Mizo giants have started building their squad for the upcoming season of Hero I-League.
After the signing of former India International, Khalid Jamil as Head Coach, the People's Club have made a string of addition to their squad.
Alfred Jayran, the Liberian striker, makes a come back into the team. The former Shillong Lajong FC player played 11 games for the club and scored 1 goal in the process.
They have also added Eze Kingsley Obumneme, the Nigerian defensive midfielder, who has played for clubs like HAL Bangalore, Kalighat MS and Peerless SC of Kolkata.
They have also signed two local players, Zohmingliana Ralte (Zotea) and R.Laldanmawia.
27 Year old Zotea is a central defender and has played for clubs like Shillong Lajong FC and Pune FC. He apperaed for DSK Shivajians FC in the last I-League.
Laldanmawia on the other hand is a winger and played for Chanmari West FC in the recently concluded MPL. He has also appeared for local clubs like Dinthar FC and Chanmari FC in the past.
Aizawl FC are yet to add two more foreign on their roster which includes the Asian Quota player. The club has intentions to complete the signings in the coming week to provide adequate time to Head Coach, Khalid Jamil to get his team ready for I-League.
Aizawl FC will travel to Kolkata to face East Bengal FC in the opening match of I-League to be played on January 7 at Barasaat Stadium.
