League Table: After Game Week 12
Mohun Bagan continue to occupy the top spot after Game week 12 with 22 points from 10 games. They are closely followed by Bengaluru FC, who also have 22 points but have played one match more than their Kolkata counterparts.
The other Kolkata club, East Bengal's title challenge has hit a rough patch as they lost two consecutive away encounters against Salgaocar FC and DSK Shivajians. They now sit at third spot with a lot of catch up to do if they want to remain in title race.
Salgaocar FC despite earning four points in their last two games are in the relegation zone. They are tied on points with North-Eastern club, Aizawl FC but have an inferior goal difference. Aizawl FC have played one game less than the Goan club.
DSK Shivajians who though are at the bottom at the table with 9 points after 10 matches, cannot get relegated as they have immunity from relegation due to being a direct entry team. DSK Shivajians debut run in this year's I-League is finally gathering some steam after the arrival of Spaniard, Juan Quero. They have earned 4 points off their last two games which also includes a 3-1 drubbing of Kolkata Giants,East Bengal FC.
As the Hero I-League moves towards the business end of the season, every game will be crucial for the teams as a bad day at field can destroy their title hopes or send them into relegation zone.
