Living upto the promise of giving local talent a chance to play in India's top League, Chennai City FC have announced the signing of former Pune FC midfielder, Dhanpal Ganesh.
Ganesh played for Chennaiyin FC for the recently concluded Indian Super League.
The 22-year defensive midfielder was the first player from Pune FC Academy to graduate to the Senior squad and made his professional debut for the club against Churchill Brothers SC on 18 December 2011 at Fatorda Stadium.
He went on to play for Indian Arrows during 2012/13 Season on a loan spell and returned to Pune the next season.
He went onto play for India U23 team during 2013 AFC U22 Asian Cup Qualification. He made his debut for India U23 against Lebanon on 23 June 2012 against Lebanon U23 in the 2013 AFC U22 Asian Cup Qualification, which India went on top win by 5-2.
He made his senior debut on 17th March 2015 against Nepal, when he came as a substitute for Eugeneson Lyngdoh.
