2ND DIVISION LEAGUE: FATEH HYDERABAD TOP GROUP C AFTER PRIDE SPORTS FAIL TO SHOW UP

Internet Desk | 24/02/2017

In a dramatic turn of events, Pride Sports FC of Jabalpur did not show up for their return leg of 2nd Division League match against Fateh Hyderabad AFC and forfeited the match. This led to match officials awarding a 3-0 victory to Fateh Hyderabad as a walk over.

There has been no official words from  the Jabalpur based club on their no show, but it is understood that players and staff refused to take the field owing to nonpayment of salaries and general mismanagement by the club.

It is to be noted that just a few days ago, a letter emerged in certain websites allegedly written by Pride Sports  Portuguese Coach, Pedro Pascal who accused the club management of missing on salary payment to players and coaching staff.

He also accused the club of not arranging proper training facilities and equipments.

With this walk over win, Fateh Hyderabad finish Preliminary round unbeaten and top group C with 12 points in 6 games which includes 3 wins and 3 draws.

Yogesh Maurya, Technical Director of Fateh Hyderabad though saddened by the no show of opposition side, but remained confident of his sides chances.

"I tried my best requesting the Pride players to reconsider their decision." said Yogesh Maurya.

"However, it is clear they and their humble coach have faced too much at this moment and we understand how they feel."

"A walkover feels a bit hollow as we were up for the game. The flip side is I don't think I am being unfair by saying we fully deserve to win the group based on our performances." opined Yogesh Maurya.

"We set a goal that our minimum acceptable target was to qualify for the second round & that's satisfying and shows our progress as a club."

The Hyderabad based club's next target will be doing well in Telangana's state League, Rahim League and National Round of 2nd Division League.
