The seventh edition of Hero Indian Super League will be held entirely in Goa this season due to the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic. The decision was announced by Football Sports Development Ltd (FSDL) with matches being played across three venues.
Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, Tilak Maidan, Vasco and GMC Athletic Stadium, Bambolim will host all the matches of upcoming ISL with strict training and social distance protocols.
The 24000 seater JLN Stadium has been the home ground of local outfit, FC Goa and has been witness to several high octane matches, including the infamous 2015 ISL Final between the home team and eventual champions, Chennaiyin FC.
Tilak Maidan, Vasco, has been home ground of former I-League Champions, Salgaocar FC and Churchill Brothers and has also hosted few matches of Indian Arrows.
The third stadium in the list is the GMC Athletic Stadium, is Goa's first integrated complex and was the venue for 2014 Lusofonia Games. The venue has hosted India's Youth teams as well as Indian Arrows during their I-League stint.
The dates for the 2020/21 season of Hero ISL is yet to be announced but is expected to begin in October end.
